US Army Installation Management Command is Hiring a Recreation Specialist (Outdoor Recreation) NF-03 Near Lewis, WA

Duties

  • Plans, schedules, organizes and implements outdoor activities. Such activities include but are not limited to cross-country skiing, hiking, biking, canoeing, camping, skeet shooting, mountain climbing and overnight recreational trips.
  • Demonstrates techniques and instructs participants in the use of equipment.
  • Coordinates with installation, county, and state officials on programs and information related to outdoor recreation and required licenses. Researches, plans and develops or enlarges outdoor recreation areas.
  • Prepares standard operating procedures. May assist in the preparation and development of the annual operating budget and 5- year plan.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Must be able to work a schedule that may include working some nights, weekends, and possible holidays.

Qualifications

Experience OR a combination of experience and education that provided the knowledge of the goals, principles, methods, and techniques of recreation programs and an understanding of the interests of individuals or groups.
(Completion of the requirements for a bachelor's degree with major study in outdoor recreation and parks; recreation management; youth, public, urban or community recreation; or special population recreation is qualifying experience.)

PCS Costs
  • Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials
  • This is a pay-banded position.
  • Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday).
  • Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. When authorized, night differential will be paid at the rate of 10% basic rate for hours of non-overtime work performed between 1800-0600.
Incentives and Bonuses
  • Incentives will not be paid.
Non-Foreign Overseas Allowances
  • Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
