Job Description
SouthCoast Health is looking for a Part-Time Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner for our Surgery Department (1 day per week)
Provides medical care under the supervision of a licensed physician. Educates patients and patient families. Performs scope of work as outlined in state guidelines, laws, rules and regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous experience in nursing or other medical fields
- Ability to build rapport with employees
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong leadership qualities
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assess patient health status including state of wellness, compliance with care plan and determines appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
- Provides acute and chronic patient care including taking histories, doing physicals, monitoring effective therapies, giving injections and medications.
- Triage patient phone calls to facilitate patient care delivery.
- Transmitting treatment plans to supervising physician for reviews.
- Communicate with collaborating physician regarding employee care
NP -Masters degree in Nursing. Successful completion of accredited nurse practitioner program in specialty of family practice/internal medicine (as required to perform duties. Minimum of three (3) years professional nursing experience in a clinic setting plus one year of nurse practitioner experience preferred.
PA - BA/BS, Masters preferred. Graduate of AMA accredited physician assistant program. Minimum of one (1) year experience as a physician assistant, preferably in clinic setting.
REQUIREMENTS:Current GA NP/PA licensure. Current BLS/ACLS CPR Certification. Certification from an accredited credentialing body. EEO, DFW, MFVD
