The Urban League of West Michigan is the city's oldest and largest community-based movement devoted to em- powering Blacks/African Americans. Founded in 1943, The Urban League is a multi-service, non-profit, impact or- ganization, with a long established reputation and overarching goal of promoting social and economic stability among African-American families and others, as well as advocating and striving for the achievement of racial equity throughout Grand Rapids, Kent County, and West Michigan.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

The Urban League of West Michigan seeks an energetic CESD Program Coordinator who will contribute to the overall growth and sustainability of the ULWM entrepreneurship and innovation initiative. We will rely on you to focus on building the assets of local communities through programs that support entrepreneurship and small business development, and financial capability. The position will report to the CDFI Program Manager.

YOUR ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in the planning, organizing, and managing the efficient delivery of an integrated program, technical assistance, and training for entrepreneurs and small businesses to support, strengthen, and expand their asset-building programs.
• Assist businesses by helping to strengthen and grow their programs, apply for funding, develop peer-to-peer networks, and identify best practices.
• Assist with funding activities, including conducting outreach, reviewing loan applications, and monitoring grantees.
• Assist in organizing and coordinating events, meetings, webinars, site visits, conference calls, and trainings with partners, consultants, member organizations, and funders.
• Coordinate and facilitate collaborative efforts among organizations across various markets, including calls, meetings, events, and training.
• Participate in public presentations, external meetings, and community engagement sessions.
• Participate in and support site visits.

YOUR QUALIFICATION & SKILLS

• Some experience in community economic development and asset building
• Small business technical assistance and lending knowledge are strongly preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent (associate or bachelor’s degree a plus).
• Proficiency in office management software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
• Ability to organize and multitask.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

YOUR SALARY

$50,000 - $55,000 annually
