Description

ABOUT THE POSITION:
UD Team seeks a highly detail oriented, motivated, and efficient Operations Assistant. The Operations Assistant will be responsible for supervising students throughout the day and assisting administrative staff to ensure smooth operations.

ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION:
Urban Dove Team Charter School (UD Team) is a distinctive network of sports-based high schools catering to over-aged, under-credited youth. We fuse a robust academic curriculum with sports-based youth development, ensuring our graduates receive a diploma, a stepping stone for higher education, and essential job skills.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Creating a warm, welcoming environment for all students, family, staff, and visitors
  • Supervising student arrivals, dismissal
  • Supervising visitor arrivals and departures
  • Monitoring student transitions in the hallways and throughout the school building and effectively communicating with appropriate staff about student behavior
  • Monitoring student bathrooms to ensure student compliance with school safety rules and effectively communicating with appropriate staff about student behavior.
  • Ensures that school exudes cleanliness, attention to detail, organization, and structure. All school signage is neat, complete and consistent
  • School environment reflects importance of the UD brand
  • Supervising students as needed during meals, and school-wide meetings
  • Assisting in the coordination of special events (often after regular school hours)
  • Assisting with unpacking/checking of materials
  • Making copies and distributing materials to classes
  • Other assigned tasks based on trajectory, skill set and desire

Requirements

  • Knowledge of office equipment such as computers, printers, copiers, and fax machines, and proficiency with software such as Microsoft Suite
  • Demonstrated ability to “multi-task” and deliver high quality work
  • Desire to devise programming to address the unique needs of our population
  • Commitment to the UD Team mission and core values of Teamwork, Leadership, and Communication
  • Commitment to the use of restorative practices and a strength-based, youth development approach to student issues
  • Ability to function well as part of a team and work independently
  • Must be team-oriented, with a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, a passion for serving at-risk youth, and a sense of humor
