Job Title: Grant Writer/Grant Administrator at Urban Baby Beginnings

Job Overview:

As the Grant Writer and Administrator at Urban Baby Beginnings (UBB), you will play a pivotal role in advancing the organization's mission by driving grant writing efforts and leading comprehensive fundraising initiatives. Focused on securing federal, state, local, and regional grants related to maternal child health, you will contribute significantly to UBB's growth and impact. The ideal candidate holds a master's degree in a related field and brings demonstrated experience in successful grant writing and fundraising. This is not a work from home position and is stationed in Newport News, VA.

Responsibilities:

Grant Research and Development:

Identify, prioritize, and research federal, state, local, and regional grant opportunities in maternal child health.

Develop and submit comprehensive grant proposals aligned with UBB's objectives and funding requirements.

Grant Administration:

Oversee the administration of awarded grants, ensuring compliance with grant requirements and reporting deadlines.

Collaborate with programmatic teams to ensure successful implementation of grant-funded initiatives.

Track and report on grant expenditures, ensuring alignment with budgetary guidelines.

Fundraising Strategy:

Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive fundraising strategy, encompassing individual giving, corporate partnerships, and major donor cultivation.

Collaborate with the marketing and communications team for effective outreach and engagement.

Campaign and Event Management:

Oversee the planning and execution of fundraising campaigns and events.

Coordinate with the marketing team to ensure impactful outreach and engagement.

Donor Database Management:

Manage and maintain a donor database, ensuring accurate tracking of contributions, pledges, and interactions.

Implement personalized stewardship and cultivation efforts based on donor insights.

Collaboration and Reporting:

Collaborate with the leadership team to understand programmatic needs and develop successful grant acquisition strategies.

Provide regular reports to the executive team and the Board of Directors on fundraising activities, grant acquisitions, and donor relationships.

Relationship Building:

Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with funding agencies, foundations, and stakeholders.

Networking and Representation:

Attend fundraising events and networking opportunities to represent UBB and build partnerships with potential donors and supporters.

Professional Development:

Stay informed about emerging trends and best practices in fundraising and grant writing within the maternal child health sector.

Qualifications:

Master's degree in public health, social work, or nonprofit management; bachelor's degree with relevant experience considered.

Proven experience leading successful fundraising campaigns and cultivating donor relationships.

Demonstrated success in writing grants (federal, foundation, etc), preferably in maternal child health.

Track record of securing and managing federal, state, local, and regional grants.

Familiarity with donor management software and CRM systems.

Strong understanding of grant application processes, budget development, compliance, and reporting.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work collaboratively, manage multiple projects, and think strategically.
