Development Coordinator

Under the supervision of the Director of Development, the Development Coordinator brings resources into KCSC through prospect research, grant writing, and other fundraising activities.

Responsibilities:

• Work with Director of Development to design innovative and effective funding/marketing strategies, especially using social media and other online fundraising tools.
• Participate in the design/development of new and existing programs. Research funding prospects, identify potential funding opportunities, and help to secure new funding for a wide array of programs and services for multicultural social service agency.
• Day-to-day management of social media platforms, website, donor database, and email communications/marketing,
• Represent KCSC at community/donor outreach events; build, develop, and maintain strong relationships with funders, donors, and other partners.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree.
• At least three to five years of work experience in a related field.
• Experience in the use of popular social media platforms to reach local community members.
• Experience in website management.
• Experience/success with grant writing and fundraising is desirable.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

• Excellent writer and communicator with strong editing skills. Fluency in English (written and verbal) is required.
• Fluency in Korean (written and verbal) and knowledge of Korean culture is desirable.
• Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel is necessary.
• Familiarity with the following is a big plus: Google Apps such as Docs, Sheets, and Forms, WordPress, Piktochart, Canva, MS Publisher, AdobeSpark, SoundCloud, and Paint-3D.
• Familiarity with fundraising/communication software such as DonorPerfect and Constant Contact is desirable.
• Knowledge of communication/marketing strategy is a plus
• Proven ability to work collegially and within a team
• Ability to work independently and remotely is also helpful.
• Interest in the field of philanthropy, nonprofit management, and/or fundraising.

Position Structure

The Development Coordinator is a FT professional position primarily based at KCSC’s headquarters in Annandale, VA.
