The role of the Creative Designer:

Upwards is looking for a Creative Designer to join the marketing department! This position will report to the Chief Product Officer and sit in the Product department. You will collaborate with the marketing department, business development, and sales. You will design everything from physical assets, such as one-pagers for events, to digital assets that live in multiple channels, such as social and web, like LinkedIn. You are someone who has a keen eye for brand, colors, design, content, and, of course, a passion for our mission.

In this role, you will (job role and responsibilities):

• Design: Design digital media assets, including social media posts such as LinkedIn, slide decks for sales, email marketing templates for our customers, and other digital content as needed.
• Collaboration: You will work with key stakeholders to understand their needs and create and design various collateral materials.
• Storytelling: Take our mission, understand the department’s needs, understand the idea they are asking, and create something visually impactful by tailoring it to the intended audience.
• Sales Collateral: Convert corporate and marketing aims into designs that are visually captivating, coherent, persuasive, and easily understandable. This could include one-pagers for specific audiences, business cards, posters, and other items to help market sales at events and meetings.
• Branding: Develop, enhance, uphold, and refresh current brand/style guidelines, templates, and related brand materials to align with the evolving brand identity.
• Design Programs: Collaborate with various media formats and utilize graphic design software tools, including Canva, Google Slides, and Sketch.
• Readiness: Prepare rough drafts, present your ideas, and amend final designs to various departments and gain full approval.
• Creative: Occasionally write content and copy to complement graphic designs and maintain a consistent brand voice.

We are looking for someone with the following qualifications:

• Extremely strong design skills, you will also need to have the ability to write copy.
• Skilled in the following programs: Figma, Sketch, Canva, After Effects, and Adobe Premier Pro.
• Can easily navigate working in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and can forge a path.
• Must have startup experience with the ability to be comfortable "wearing many hats" and diving deep when necessary.
