Upstate Veterinary Specialties (UVS) is a privately owned, specialty and emergency veterinary practice located in the Capital District of upstate New York. We offer a congenial, supportive work environment with board certified specialists in Cardiology, Critical Care, Dermatology, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Oncology, Radiology, Physical Therapy and Surgery. Our mission is to help our patients live longer, happier lives through expert medical care and compassionate customer service.

Our practice has a talented mix of experienced emergency clinicians and specialists. Our hospital is unique in that we have a toxicologist and two hospitalists on staff. We have two technicians dedicated to our in-house pharmacy and three well-being team members who help facilitate compassionate client communications and help our staff.
We value life-long learning- encouraging and funding continuing education for our staff. Our new medical hires participate in an eight-week rotational training program to set staff on a path to success.

What are we looking for?
We are seeking an enthusiastic team player to work with our medical staff. Veterinary Assistants support our doctors and technicians with the medical treatments and care of our patients. They also ensure that all treatment areas are clean, organized and well-stocked.
Veterinary Assistants must possess excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced and, collaborative, team-oriented environment. The ability to lift animals and boxes and constantly move throughout the hospital is required.
**Candidates must have prior experience in a veterinary hospital or in animal husbandry.**
Schedule:
Monday through Wednesday 3:45 pm to 4:15 am or 5:45 pm to 6:15 am. Must work on Saturday per month.
Open to part-time and per diem.
