Taproom ManagerUpstate Brewing Company – 130 Water Street, Penn Yan, NY

Upstate Brewing Company is looking for a Taproom Manager for their Penn Yan taproom location that has a positive, outgoing attitude with a focus on customer service and can work well under pressure. You must be able to learn about Upstate Brewing beers and represent the Upstate Brewing brand both in the taproom and occasionally at outside events.

The ideal candidate loves craft beer, is eager to learn, is extremely organized and detail-oriented, and is responsible as well as hard working. The Taproom Manager is responsible for tending bar, upkeep of the Taproom, and management of the Taproom staff. They will also assist with marketing, social media and work closely with ownership for additional duties as required/requested.

Duties and responsibilities:Taproom Management:- Tend bar and manage direct sales through Square POS system (credit card and cash handling)- Open and close the taproom (open and close cash drawers, ensure that the taproom is clean and ready for customers, restock/order any necessary supplies, address any unforeseen needs).- Create a clean, friendly and welcoming taproom environment at all times (temperature, music, conduct).- Play the role of brand ambassador, focus on creating Upstate Brewing fans for life- Manage customer feedback to ensure the taproom meets the needs of customers as much as possible, and provide feedback to Brewery staff as required- Complete accurate taproom inventory weekly and monthly (both beer and merchandise)- Plan and execute special events in the taproom working with local vendors/makers.- Weekly or bi-weekly bank deposits

Taproom Staff Management:- Set the daily schedule for Taproom employees at minimum of two weeks in advance- Train new employees - Serve as team leader to staff of bartenders- Creation and implementation of standard operating procedures for the TaproomMarketing Responsibilities:- Work with the appropriate people to properly market the taproom.- Manage food truck schedule (possible in future) and build relationships with local food establishments that deliver to the taproom.- Come up with special event ideas and fun/engaging promotions- Assist with management of social media accounts

Qualifications:- Ability to use Square POS system and iPhone apps- Ability to work with others in fast paced environment, adapt and solve problems.- Ability to get to Taproom for all scheduled shifts- Ability to move kegs up to 165 lbs with reasonable accommodation- Hospitality experience preferred.Working conditions:- Position will be 35 hours per week, nights and weekends are required
