ANCC Magnet designated UPMC Passavant is currently hiring a Casual Pharmacist Tier II at the McCandless location. Hospital pharmacy experience is preferred. 

Shift Details:

• Shift times will be variable 
• Every third weekend (Saturday and Sunday)
• No call
• No holidays 
• Shifts will be discussed further in the interview

Purpose:
Prepare, dispense all drugs and pharmaceuticals for patients, and provide drug information to nurses, physicians, patients, and other hospital staff as needed. Internal contacts are with peers, nursing staff, physicians, and personnel in other departments for the purpose of gathering or providing information to process orders or provide patient care. External contacts are with pharmaceutical sales representatives, physician's office personnel, pharmacists at other locations, and members of the general public for the purpose of gathering or providing information to process orders or provide patient care. Assess and interpret data and information relative to the customer's age-specific needs.
Responsibilities:

• Review, maintain, and screen patient medication records and profiles for allergies, drug interactions and therapeutic duplications while entering orders and/or verifying medication.
• Fill prescription orders in accordance with State and Federal regulations, utilizing technological resources and equipment.
• Utilize all available technologies in the provision of pharmaceutical care (i.e., computer systems and databases, AcuDose, pneumatic tube system, etc.).
• Promote patient safety.
• Provide drug Information to nurses, physicians, patients, and other hospital staff as needed.
• Interpret and evaluate physician orders in order to prepare, calculate, and dispense appropriate medication dosage forms for inpatient and outpatient treatment in accordance with the Pennsylvania Pharmacy Practice Act, Federal Drug Laws, and other regulatory organizations.
