Primary Purpose:
This position will assist the Network in promoting a Safe School culture. The Risk Manager will be responsible for day-to-day support for the Network regarding insurance, claim management, safety training and mitigation. Mitigation of School Risk is a primary focus of the Risk Management/Safety team at Uplift.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Insurance Claim Management

  • Process all new claims and maintain existing claim files, complete initial analysis, budget for claim. Process documentation to the insurance company.
  • Workers’ Compensation liaison. Work closely with Talent Management to manage workers’ compensation claims. Manage return to work process with injured employee supervisor, and workers’ compensation adjustor. Attend claim reviews.
  • Manage internal incidents for property and auto. Collect claim data, approve repairs, and complete budget change requests to incident location.
  • Assist in fleet management for insurance, title management and driver safety process.
Safety and Security
  • Research and assist in Safety Audit, Emergency Operations Planning and manage safety allotment/safety grant budget.
  • Maintain the Approved Driver List and administer training.
  • Create Incident dashboard for trend analysis and mitigation program.
  • Maintain Safety and Security/Risk Management Intranet page.
  • Support a Safety Culture through the Network.
Insurance
  • Collaborate with Sr. Director of Risk Manager on insurance policy renewals.
  • Complete application data for all renewals.
  • Manage all certificate of insurance requests and review vendor certificates for compliance.
Customer Service
  • Organizes and manages routine activities of Risk Management Department with an emphasis on prioritizing tasks, efficient time management, accuracy of completed tasks, and customer service.
  • Compose and edit documents and correspondence, including but not limited to forms, proposals, contracts, proposal tabulations and other written communications.
  • Performs administrative tasks including resolving issues, filing, retrieving, researching, and distributing documents.
  • Responds to inquiries from employees in an accurate, knowledgeable, and efficient manner, seeking assistance as required from the Sr. Director of Risk Management/Procurement or CFO for issues that are beyond his/her job description or knowledge.
Education, Experience, and/or Certification(s)
  • Education Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree preferred; may substitute equivalent work experience for degree preference.
  • Experience Requirements: Two years’ experience with insurance agency, brokerage, or insurance company a plus. Experience in data analysis and problem solving with large amounts of data.
  • Special Skills/Certifications: Ability to understand and implement certification rules and procedures. Must be discreet with sensitive information. Successfully engages in multiple projects simultaneously.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Communication Skills: Mastery of both oral and written English with the ability to write general correspondence. Effective organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Bilingual Skills: N/A
  • Technology: Ability to use software to develop spreadsheets, databases, and do word processing.
Physical Demands: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting; repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching; occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)
Work Environment: Standard office environment. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level is low to high and may have frequent interruptions. There may be activity from other employees and students of a distracting nature. Travel to various campus throughout the Network may be required.
Starting Salary: $65,000
