People, Culture, and Operations Coordinator 

Founded in 2010, Up2Us Sports is a national nonprofit organization that is focused on the power of coaches to transform the lives of our nation’s most vulnerable youth, and the communities they live in, through sports. Up2Us Sports is based on a simple premise: That highly trained coaches can be among the most transformative adults in young people’s lives and inspire their success on the field, in the classroom, and in life.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Up2Us Sports is seeking a passionate sports-based youth development coordinator to join our team. The People, Culture, and Operations Coordinator will be responsible for the administration and coordination of many Operational and Human Resources functions of the organization. This position will report to the National Director, People and Culture. This position will have a hybrid work schedule, and will be located in Baltimore, Chicago, New Orleans, or Philadelphia.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 

Human Resources

  • Assist with staff on-boarding and off-boarding procedures, such as coordinating orientation sessions for new staff members, and ensuring all exiting procedures are completed on time
  • Ensure all personnel profiles are complete and current in BambooHR
  • Review incoming mail and ensure all requests are responded to and completed in a timely manner
  • Submit claims to external agencies for workers compensation, income withholding, and unemployment insurance
  • Respond to employment verification requests 
  • Assist in the yearly open enrollment process for staff benefits
  • Ensure all state registrations and tax accounts are current
  • Learn the payroll process and serve as a backup payroll administrator 
  • Must be able to manage and maintain sensitive and confidential information, ensuring it is handled securely
  • Travel may be required on an as-needed basis; no more than 10% of work time
  • Other HR duties as determined by the National Director, People and Culture

Program Operations

  • Work in close communication with the Program Operations team to ensure smooth information flow between the teams and systems 
  • Gain a proficient understanding of all systems including, but not limited to, Salesforce, BambooHR, UKG (timesheets), and MyQuest 
  • Enroll and exit coaches in systems based on required timelines 
  • Manage and track inventory of Up2Us Sports gear and apparel for all staff members and service members 
  • Ensure Up2Us Coach profiles are current and complete at all times across all systems; track eligibility documentation and expiration dates 
  • Gain an understanding of the benefits available to AmeriCorps members and serve as a resource for Program staff members and service members 
  • Provide support in creating, updating, and tracking all policy and procedural documents related to Program Operations 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • A minimum of two years of administrative experience at a nonprofit or similar organization 
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with Google and Microsoft Office applications 
  • Superb interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills 
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills 
  • Must be able to work on a team, but also be self-motivated; Experience working with remote team members is a plus
  • Highly organized and able to organize on behalf of others.
  • A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse work environment

COMPENSATION 

  • Salary range: $42,000 - $48,000 per year
