The HSC Office for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (OfDEI) is looking for an experienced individual to fill a Sr. Program Manager position in our office. This position will provide strategic leadership and direction to the HRSA funded NM Workforce Diversity Center of Excellence (NM COE) grant. Working collaboratively with NM COE leadership and personnel, partners, community, and participants, and the OfDEI, the individual will be accountable for managing the strategic and operational plans for the programmatic, curricular, pedagogical, research, and evaluative aspects of all NM COE initiatives inclusive of student, faculty, resident, and/or community-focus. Such strategic plans should span the full duration of each initiative. Partners include public and higher education institutions, tribal governments and communities, UNM and UNM Health & Health Sciences, and community-based entities.
The NM COEservesas a catalyst for institutionalizing commitment to diversity and health equity. The purpose of NM COE is to strengthen UNM Health & Health Sciences capacity to produce a quality health professions workforce that represents the racial and ethnic diversity of the State.
Its unifying goal is to create a multi-directional, community-engaged health education and training program to build a cadre of URM students and faculty ready to address NM’s sociocultural determinants of health (SDH) and health inequalities. The NM COE will integrate, expand existing, and develop new programming to measurably improve the recruitment, mentorship, training, and retention of URM undergraduate and professional student, academic faculty, and community faculty scholars in NM with a commitment to health equity.The Sr. Program Manager position will manage the planning, implementation, budgeting, reporting, and evaluation of each goal, objective, and milestone activity of the NM COE project. While engaging and monitoring progress on strategic plans, they will also ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations, while completing all required grant reports.
This role requires continual communication with NM COE faculty, staff, and community members to weave together programs, resources, and community and strategic partners to improve information resources, clinical education, curricula, and cultural competence as they relate to minority health and SDH. They will work with OfDEI faculty and staff to ensure effectiveness and efficiency with office procedures and compliance with budget. In partnership with the entire NM COE and OfDEI teams, they will help to foster an inclusive environment that fully empowers a diverse body of students, faculty, residents and staff to be fully prepared to serve a culturally diverse state and society.
