Clinical Supervisor Job Description
The Clinical Supervisor directs and manages an effective clinical service delivery team using applicable principles of Social Work and/or Counseling which include - patient psychosocial assessment, group and individual psychotherapy, family intervention, patient/family education and treatment planning. The candidate must have addiction counseling certification in good standing, or an appropriate license. This is a full-time position and will require 40 hours per week commitment. Additionally, candidates must be able to pass a background check.
Responsibilities
- Supports evaluation of program services to enhance patient outcomes and acts as a positive change agent to implement clinical initiatives to increase quality patient care.
- Conducts assessment of each patient’s psychosocial status and functioning in an effort to document history and identify preliminary items for the treatment plan.
- Facilitates the overall development and implementation of a comprehensive, individualized plan of treatment in conjunction with other treatment team members.
- Incorporates the patient’s psychosocial functioning and strengths in the plan of care.
- Formulates a treatment plan with the client, using knowledge of alcohol and drug abuse risk factors and counseling and treatment techniques.
- Provides and/or arranges for therapeutic interventions as appropriate for patients or clients in a crisis situation.
- Follows up to determine reliability and validity of treatment used; makes recommendations regarding modification to services and service delivery.
- Refers clients to other support services as needed, such as medical evaluation and treatment, social services, and employment services.
- Prepares and maintains reports and case histories.
- Participates in the review of clinical issues and program policies and procedures.
- Consults with other therapists and related professional and paraprofessional staff, as appropriate, in the performance of therapeutic and/or casework; refers clients to appropriate service agencies as required.
- Attends staff meetings and team conferences; leads team meetings as required.
- Participates in, leads, and/or coordinates training sessions and workshops to enhance treatment skills.
- Maintains current knowledge base on counseling issues regarding substance abuse and other psychosocial disorders through conferences, educational requirements for licensure, and applicable current literature.
- Utilizes the audit tools provided by Maryland BHA designated Administrative Service Organization to conduct quarterly reviews of clinical documentation of each program, per CARF guidelines.
- Clinical Director will maintain ongoing supervision of clinical staff to ensure compliance with CARF standards, COMAR regulations and UBHS procedures.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Positive attitude and open approach to patients, staff and visitors.
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
- Strong knowledge of addiction, treatment, and recovery.
- Experience and ability to work with electronic medical records is required.
- Knowledge of ICANotes is a plus.
- Must pass criminal background checks.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $115,00.00 - $130,000.00 per year

Ability to commute/relocate:
- Curtis Bay, MD 21226: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
Education:
Master's degree (Required) in Social Work, Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology or related fields
Experience:
3-5 years experience of Clinical Manager, Supervisor or Director
Addictions, substance abuse experience preferred
License/Certification:
Active Maryland State License-LCSW-C, LCPC,
Maryland State Board of Professional Counselor Supervisor Approval in Drug and Alcohol Counseling
