Job Summary

Accurately processes and collects patient information; collects blood samples; prepares blood and other specimens for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. Performs medical laboratory testing (CLIA-waived).

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Accurately processes and collects patient information; collects blood samples; prepares blood and other specimens for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. Performs medical laboratory testing (CLIA-waived).
  • Other support functions such as processing reference lab invoices and orientation and training of other laboratory personnel.
  • Quality Assessment and Improvement Functions such as participating in Quality Assurance activities and processing weekly Public Health data.

    Minimum Qualifications

    High school diploma or equivalent.
    One (1) year (12 months) of work experience as a phlebotomist within the last five years.

    Appointment Information

    This is a 100% full-time Civil Service Phlebotomist position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible. Salary is commensurate with experience.
