Operations Coordinator - OMI (Remote)

Job Summary
Working in close collaboration with Unit Leadership as part of the Office of Medicaid Innovation (OMI) Operations Team, responsible for collaborating with Healthcare and Family Services (HFS), OMI, and the various parts of the University to identity, facilitate, and coordinate strategic partnerships and establish necessary resources required to ensure the success of OMI projects, goals, and objectives. HFS is Illinois' single state Medicaid agency and the state organization responsible for administering Illinois' Medical Assistance and Child Support programs.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Identify prospective resources from across the University of Illinois campuses, colleges, schools, and/or locations to address the operational needs of OMI and/or its partners.
  • In conjunction with the OMI business office, propose and coordinate dynamic reimbursement approaches to secure University resources to be funded by OMI in direct response to executed project orders or similar work initiatives.
  • Monitors the utilization and allocation of existing resources required to support existing OMI projects and initiatives.
  • Coordinate efforts between OMI, HFS, and different parts of the University; establish and maintain regular coordination meetings; and take on support tasks necessary to keep OMI operations functioning smoothly.
  • Establish resource plans for OMI projects and operations to ensure OMI Leadership understands the resource commitment to achieve projects and initiatives.
  • In collaboration with OMI Leadership, cultivate and maintain existing partnerships with University resources and OMI on behalf of HFS.
  • In collaboration with OMI leadership, coordinating staffing plans within OMI as well as project staffing oversight within OMI Project Orders.
  • Utilize creative problem solving and propose solutions to OMI leadership to achieve Unit goals and objectives through the innovative utilization of University resources.
  • Scheduling and facilitating meetings between new or existing partners and OMI.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Specialty Factors
Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, communications, or other field related to the position. One (1) year of work experience in project management, program coordination, human resources, or health service administration.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated understanding of health service administration.
  • Demonstrated understand of professional relationship development.
  • Demonstrated understanding of data management and analysis skills.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, for oral and written communication.
  • Must be able to quickly assess and analysis strategic business affairs to act in the best interest of OMI/HFS.
  • Ability to work well with a team.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, with special emphasis on Excel.

Appointment Information
This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 5002 - Program Coordinator position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after 2/13/2023. Salary is commensurate with experience.
