Job SummaryThe Department of Microbiology at UT Southwestern Medical Center focuses on conducting basic and translational research in infectious diseases and training graduate students, medical students, physician scientists, and postdoctoral fellows. Our goals are to provide and continue to develop a rich environment of interdisciplinary research excellence within a highly collaborative atmosphere for faculty and students. As a valued member of our reproductive biology team, you will have the opportunity to help UT Southwestern with our mission to educate, discover, and heal and grow into advanced supervisor roles.
In this role, the candidate will perform: Computational analyses of bacterial and eukaryotic gene evolution (e.g. homolog detections, selective signatures); Bioinformatic analysis of various transcriptomic pipelines (RNA0Seg, scRNA-Seg, etc...); and Bioinformatic analysis of CRISPR screens for mammalian host gene targeting, and bioinformatic analysis of pooled bacterial fitness assays. Additionally, the candidate will perform bioinformatic analysis of RNA processing and transcription (e.g. rMATS, m6A-seq, ChIP-seq, CLIP-seq).
