WORKING TITLE: Director of Player Development

UW SYSTEM OFFICIAL TITLE: Assistant Coach

POSTING DATE: May 10, 2024

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

The Director of Player Development will report to the Head Women's Basketball Coach and will assist with all aspects of running a successful Division I Women's Basketball program, while adhering to all NCAA, UW-Green Bay, UW System and State of Wisconsin rules, regulations and policies.

This position includes the following responsibilities:

  • Be active on the court coaching players during skill workouts, practices and games. Breakdown practice and game film to provide feedback to players. Support other assistant coaches and the Head Coach in practices and games.
  • Team Support: Assist with day-to-day operations. Assist with coordination of video recording and editing of practices and games as directed by the Head Coach. Help organize and schedule team functions/team calendar. Oversee and recruit managers, support staff, and practice players. Organize and communicate with KEC staff for Facility scheduling regarding practices, workouts, team functions and special events and organize all game day ticketing for away games.
  • Assist in fundraising for the women¿s basketball and athletics department; attend fundraising events as requested by the Head Coach and Director of Athletics and/or his/her designee.
  • Recruiting: Assist with the recruitment of student-athletes on campus only. Develop recruiting materials to provide prospective student-athletes as well as creative content for social media channels.

QUALIFICATIONS:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent at time of application
  • Coaching and/or playing experience at collegiate/professional level.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree or equivalent
  • Knowledge of NCAA and/or Horizon League rules and regulations
  • Experience with individualized performance coaching

SPECIAL NOTES:

This position will travel often with the Women's Basketball team. It will require night and weekend work along with traditional work hours.

Position is a part-time (37%) Limited appointment. Official transcripts of the highest degree achieved will be required of finalist(s). A criminal conviction investigation will be conducted on the finalist(s). SALARY INFORMATION

Actual salary range based upon a 37% appointment is $12,000 - $17,000 (full-time equivalent annual salary of $32,432 - $45,946).

This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

BENEFIT DETAILS

UW System provides an excellent benefits package to meet the diverse needs of its employees. This includes several health insurance options, with annual deductibles as low as $250/individual and $500/family. Our benefits package also includes dental, vision, several life insurance options, AD&D and Accident insurance and Flexible Spending and Health Savings Accounts. We participate in the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS), where employer contributions begin immediately and employees are fully vested after 5 years of service. The UW System also provides supplemental retirement savings programs including a 403(b) and Deferred Compensation.

In addition, employees receive several types of paid leave benefits, which are prorated for employees working less than 100%. This includes 9 legal holidays, 36 hours of personal holiday and between 96-130 hours of sick leave annually. Employees earn 13-27 days of vacation each year, depending on years of service and employment type.
