University of Wisconsin- Platteville is Hiring a Coordinator for Student Case Management Near Platteville, WI

Position Summary:

The Dean of Students Office at UW-Platteville seeks a Coordinator for Student Case Management. This position supports the mission and goals of the Dean of Students Office, the division of Administration and Finance, the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, and the Universities of Wisconsin.

Reporting to the Dean of Students, the Case Manager is focused on the personal and academic success of students. Support is provided to and for students experiencing varying levels of concern including, but not limited to: crises and emergencies, academic challenges, behavioral and physical health concerns, financial concerns, and personal and family issues. The Case Manager works collaboratively with students, faculty, staff, and parents to identify and respond to concerns, interpret policies and procedures, make appropriate referrals, and discuss options and consequences of various decisions. As the primary case manager for all students of concern cases, this position specializes in providing critical outreach and follow-up with students of concern or those who are experiencing a crisis and serves as a member of the Behavioral Review and Recommendation Team. The position prepares annual reports and summaries based on documented data.

This is a full-time,and eligible position. Wage is $50,000 per year.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and academic advisors to provide assistance and support for students of concern.
  • Serve as a resource to staff, faculty, employees, community members, students and parents (current and potential) regarding policies and procedures of the Dean of Students Office, while adhering to all mandated standards of privacy.
  • Facilitate effective written and oral communication with persons and organizations interacting with the office and maintain records of communication.
  • Assist in maintaining campus crime statistics and reports, as required by state and federal law required by the Office of Postsecondary Education of the U.S. Department of Education.
  • Assist in maintaining campus statistics for the University of Wisconsin System reports.
  • Attend job related in-services, conventions, workshops, etc.
  • Maintain current knowledge on research and literature pertinent to the field of student affairs.
  • Maintain active membership in professional organizations.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited Institution with a minimum 2 years' experience in crisis intervention, social work, higher education environment OR Master's degree with concentration in Students Affairs, Social Work, Higher Education Administration, School Counseling
  • Experience working with individuals or students in crisis management.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment and/or desire to promote equity, diversity and inclusivity.
  • Experience in exploring alleged violations of policy.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.
