POSITION PURPOSE Lead opening, closing, replenishment and customer service operations of a high-volume retail markets, Cafs and Coffee Roasting facility; selling perishable and non-perishable merchandise and recipe ingredients.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES Assign, instruct and check the work of market staff including Stockroom Attendant 2, FSW2, FSW1, and hourly student employees. Oversee the opening and/or closing service functions of the store. Operate point of sale systems, keying in sales, and taking payments. Ensure all visible surfaces are clean and orderly; keep all areas of the operation clear of all litter and debris. Ensure that all food items are attractively displayed, meet all Quality Assurance Standards, and are properly identified and priced. Keep display cases full throughout the day. Receive ordered items; check purchase receipts and invoices; return damaged goods; and stock shelves. Act as primary point of contact to vendor representatives and delivery drivers, coordinating deliveries. Receive and fill day-to-day requisitions from District Market stations. Store merchandise received in refrigerators, freezers, or storage rooms according to inventory storage locations and food handling guidelines. Rotate stock so that older items are used first. Ensure that box labels are facing outward. Maintain compliance with state and institution policies regarding receipt, issuance and inventory of supplies, materials, and equipment; notify superior when necessary to reorder inventory. Maintain inventory and ordering records and/or cost records and periodically take physical inventories. Weigh all received stock sold by weight. Rearrange stock to accommodate inventory movement and use hand dollies and pallet jacks to move stock and equipment. Maintain stockroom areas, including custodial responsibilities and disposal of surplus materials. Perform data input into CBORD FSS system following established protocols, including orders, invoices, inventory, and transfers. Identify and escalate suspected errors or issues to manager or Dining Systems. Generate and print reports or worksheets from CBORD FSS system, including order guides and tally sheets. Take inventory counts using tally sheets from CBORD FSS system. Perform related duties as assigned.

POSITION DIMENSIONS Position involves lifting and working in extremely hot and cold environments. Knowledge required is beyond regular stockroom work in that the position is in a customer service facing role and must know how foods received and stored are to look, considering expiration date, appearance, and temperature.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS High school graduation or equivalent AND one year of experience in warehousing, stockkeeping, shipping, or receiving OR equivalent education/experience.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT A satisfactory outcome from the employment reference check processes. Possession of a Washington State Food Workers Card required within two weeks of employment and maintenance thereafter.
