The HMC UW Medicine Stroke Center has an outstanding opportunity for a full time (40 hours a week), day shiftProgram Coordinator. The Stroke Center Program Coordinator is a key member of the team who provides advanced administrative support, organizational coordination, and information management tasks requiring complex reporting to ensure daily operations of the Stroke Center. This position functions under general direction with delegated authority of the Stroke Center Program Manager. The Program Coordinator is responsible for meeting all of the essential administrative support service needs of the Stroke Center team, including physicians, nurse practitioners, and nurses.

  • PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
    General Program Coordinator duties
    •Establish open and consistent lines of communication with the stroke-related clinics, nursing units, and other hospital departments. Establish consistent systems for staff notification and program reminders.
    •Revise and maintain program policies and operations manual in consultation with the program manager. Update and maintain program contacts and listings.
    •Program performance data collection, stroke database entry, and patient outcomes tracking for the Stroke Program as assigned.
    •Meetings and events: Regularly attend multiple Stroke Center-related meetings and maintain minutes; responsible for meeting agenda planning, scheduling, and notification systems.
    •Maintain website for the Stroke program including updating general information, process updates and other information.
    •Send discharge letters according to agreed upon timelines.
    Telestroke
    •Coordination of telestroke program within the Stroke Center:
    •Follow up and liaison with telestroke partner sites. Resolves issues with sites and coordinates any escalations as appropriate to the Program Manager.
    •Coordinates meetings, site visits, and educational opportunities including packet/data preparation, data entry, mailings to participating sites, etc.
    •Coordinates business travel including hotel and transportation.
    •Maintain distribution lists/mailman lists
    •Email agenda and minutes.
    Staff, patient and community education
    •Help with development and distribution of teaching and media materials for patients, families, and staff.
    •Support coordination and planning of stroke program projects and activities throughout the program.
    •Track Stroke Team educational requirements and maintain Staff CME records.
    •Event planning, including coordination of weekly Stroke Conference, preparation of community or training events throughout the year.
    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
    High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of experience in the program specialty OR equivalent education/experience.
