The University of Texas Permian Basin welcomes applications for the position of Nurse Program Coordinator


Salary Range

$70,000.00 depending on qualifications

Essential Functions

Nurse-Family Partnership empowers first-time moms to transform their lives and create better futures for themselves and their babies. Nurses in this role are compassionate, organized, flexible, and self-directed, with strong advocacy and teaching skills. This role provides home visiting services to eligible first-time mothers and their families.
Registered Nurse (RN) I – Current RN licensure
Registered Nurse (RN) II – BSN
1. Responsible for carrying a caseload of 25 clients
3. Develops therapeutic relationships and utilizes concepts of reflection and motivational interviewing with women and their families in a home visiting environment.
4. Performs home visits in accordance with the NFP model, visit-to-visit guidelines, and agency procedures.
5. Follows the nursing process in implementing NFP into nursing practice. Formulates nursing diagnosis based on nursing assessment and client goals.
6. Evaluates client progress and plan home visits in accordance with stated goals and NFP outcomes.
7. Assesses physical, emotional, social, and environmental needs of women and their families as they relate to the NFP domains.
9. Provides education, support, and referral resources in assisting clients and their families to attain their targeted goals.
11. Consults and collaborates with other professionals providing services to clients and their families.
12. Meets with NFP Nurse Supervisor weekly for clinical supervision.
13. Conduct outreach and recruitment activities for the program and the department throughout the year.

Required Qualifications

1. Current RN license (in good standing)
2. Current CPR

Preferred Qualifications

  • BSN
  • Two years’ recent experience in maternal/child health, public health, home visiting or mental/behavioral nursing.
  • Experience in a home visiting setting.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).

Conditions of Employment

Schedule

Generally, the normal work hours for the university are Monday through Thursday, 7:30 – 5:30 pm; Friday, 8:00 am – 12:00 pm with a one-hour lunch. The individual holding this position may need to be available early morning, evening, and on weekends to meet the needs of the department. Hours worked may differ with some departments.


Standard Working Conditions

1. Able to lift various materials up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis.
2. Able to bend, crouch, and reach continuously.
3. Physically able remain seated, frequently to continuously.
4. Able to remain standing up to 15% of the time.
5. Possesses dexterity abilities required to perform job duties including extensive keyboard work, operating office equipment, performing filing, and other job-related responsibilities that include extensive wrist and hand movement.
