Salary
Salary Range: $40,000-$62,000 annualized, commensurate with education, experience and qualifications.
Hours per Week
Exempt Position: 40 hours per week.
Required Application Materials

Essential Functions
Function: To provide specialized program support in the coordination of all phases and activities of major research programs/projects.
Typical Duties:
  • Manage the day-to-day activities, track budgets, organize meetings, establish communications among the partnering institutions, NASA Research Centers, independent program evaluator, and External Advisory Committee, and prepare quarterly and annual reports.
  • Coordinate and oversee the new Center's education and outreach programs, including student professional development, the internship program, the student information database, K-12 teacher workshops, and student and faculty visits to local K-12 schools.
  • Develop strategies for internal assessments and evaluations of the Center's educational and outreach programs and closely work with the external evaluator for performing the annual evaluation to be reported to NASA program manager.
  • Be in charge of the Center's data management (environmental data, publications, and student data)
  • Take care of Center students regarding payments, etc.
  • Take care of all PI's and student travel related, purchases etc.
  • Work with the web developer to maintain and constantly update the project website.
  • Help with recruitment efforts, advertisement.
  • Help with course-related tasks such as coordinating efforts for joint courses.
  • Coordinate with University Public Relations on newsworthy events to develop press releases and media interviews.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and five years of experience in one or more of the following:
    • Grant or research administration, program, project or business administration
A Master's degree may substitute for two years of required experience
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree, preferably in science, engineering, or management, but other fields will be considered
  • Prior experience on education and outreach, grant management, excellent communication skills with faculty, students, and K-12 teachers, good writing and data management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Working Conditions
Hybrid: Works remotely and on campus (approximately 5 or more days on campus per month). Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility. Applicants must be adaptable and open to working in both environments.
