SalarySalary Range: $16/hr (based on a 19-hour work week)
Hours per WeekNon-Exempt Position: 19 hours a week.

Essential Functions- Calibrate, sanitize, sterilize, maintain, and properly clean laboratory equipment and environment.
- Managing hazardous waste and routine tests
- Accurately document experiments to ensure that work can be replicated by others. Collect, analyze, compile, interpret and evaluate research results and report progress to the principal investigator
- Perform mouse breeding and maintenance (measure body weight, exercise volume, and food intake weekly; measure glucose and insulin tolerance tests): training will be provided.
- Perform many molecular, biochemical, and cellular experiments independently.
- Perform mouse experiments including survival surgery, echocardiography, and hemodynamics (pressure-volume loop) measurements.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in basic science or related field.
- Two years of lab experience can be substituted for 1 year of education.
- Must have at least three years of college coursework.
Preferred Qualifications- Master's degree in a related field.
- Animal biology, Kinesiology, Biological Science or related areas.
- 1-2 years of experience in a laboratory setting.
- Have the ability to learn quickly and properly follow protocols, procedures, and instructions.
- Responsible for cleaning, disinfecting and maintaining lab benches and equipment
- Able to use various laboratory instruments through training or experience
- The ability to work with mice is essential.
- Previous experience or training in performing mouse experiments
