Salary
Salary Range: $53,000- $56,000 annualized, commensurate with education, experience and qualifications.

Essential Functions
Function: To provide direct supervision of the Intramural Sports and Club Sports programs and management of the Recreational Field Complex. Emphasis on the development and engagement of student staff.
Scope: Responsible for all facets of the Intramural Sports and Club Sports program, including management of the Recreational Field Complex and supervising the student Sport Programs staff.
Typical:
  • Ensure the highest possible level of customer service to provide exceptional experiences for students, faculty, staff, guests, and university partners.
  • Supervise and mentor the Program Coordinator for Sport Programs.
  • Supervise student staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, mentoring, conducting evaluations and disciplinary processes, and overseeing payroll
  • Contribute to departmental and divisional student-centered initiatives.
  • Plan, develop and direct the Intramural Sports program.
  • Oversee programmed activities and student staff in the Recreation Wellness Center and Recreational Field Complex.
  • Manage the Recreational Field Complex.
  • Collaborate with department staff to ensure the facility is maintained as needed to meet industry standards for programmatic use and implement routine inspections and audits.
  • Manage, develop, and provide leadership for the Club Sports teams.
  • Serve as the Registered Student Organization Administrator for club teams when requested.
  • Manage extramural travel and related risk management paperwork.
  • Submit an annual budget and provide financial supervision necessary to achieve budget targets, carrying out best practices in financial stewardship.
  • Provide program planning and assessment.
  • Provide ongoing semester and annual updates on appropriate measures of success, including participation, assessment data, financial status, and area happenings.
  • Conduct regular patron surveys to ensure quality program effectiveness.
  • Assist with departmental efforts regarding student staff and participant development.
  • Maintain the Intramural Sports, Club Sports, and Recreational Field Complex policies and procedures manuals.
  • Market Intramural and Club Sports programs.
  • Participate and contribute to departmental committees.
  • Represent Campus Recreation within the campus community through committees and participation in various university functions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Three years of full-time experience in Intramural Sport programming (Two years of graduate assistant experience equates to one year of professional experience).
  • CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications within the first 180 days.
  • Excellent written and oral skills and the ability to work with diverse groups.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Demonstrated experience, knowledge, and ability to hire, train, supervise, and evaluate sport officials.
  • Experience in planning, supervision, and program development.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in sports administration, kinesiology, leisure studies, recreation, educational leadership, higher education administration, or related field.
  • First Aid instructor certification.
  • Club Sports management experience.
  • Supervisory experience.
Working Conditions
  • Normal office and indoor and outdoor playing courts and fields
  • Some early mornings, evenings, and weekends
  • Ability to perform light maintenance, climb ladders and assist with event set-ups
  • May involve work as a member of the skeleton crew during University holidays and inclement weather days.
On Campus: Primary work location will be on campus. Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility.
