Job Purpose:
The Career Development and Information Specialist will develop materials/reports and facilitate information sharing with identified stakeholders, within and outside the university, utilizing data gathered through various surveys and other data sources. This position will also support various career development initiatives including, but not limited to recruitment, prospect development and constituency communications.
Essential Duties:
  • Manage collection of data pertaining to students and alumni career planning and acquisition of identified goals
  • Create university-wide reports as needed utilizing data from various sources (i.e. First Destination Survey)
  • Provide the University community with outcomes data specific to department as requested
  • Manage information sharing via departmental website
  • Act as contact person for the university community in regards to data collection, interpretation, and customization
  • Manage the use and maintenance of departmental platforms to ensure accurate database management
  • Respond in a timely manner with employers, students, and alumni regarding questions relating to approvals and utilization of departmental platforms (i.e. Handshake, Scranton Connections, etc.)
  • Assist students, alumni, and employers via email, phone or in-person, with questions relating to departmental software, platforms, and use thereof
  • Provide content/design for staff members from departmental platforms for purpose of departmental reports/newsletters/updates
Additional Skills Required:
  • Advanced Excel skill (reporting, pivot tables, etc)
  • Data collection, interpretation & management
  • Familiarity with Content Management Systems (CMS) and basic web development/editing
  • Proficiency with software used in creation of marketing materials and/or willingness to learn based on technology needs (i.e. Adobe In-Design//Acrobat, Canva)
  • Ability to effectively present information to various university constituencies
  • Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with social media platforms
  • Ability to learn and maintain proficiency with computer-based platforms (Career Services Management system, WordPress, etc.)
  • High levels of self-motivation, determination, poise, and self-confidence
  • Must be able to prioritize and set goals
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential
  • Must be able to support the Universitys commitment to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture
  • Must be able to respect, support and contribute to the Universitys Catholic and Jesuit mission
Minimum Education Requirements:
  • Bachelors Degree required
Preferred Education:
  • Master preferred
Minimum Job Experience Requirements:
  • At least one (1) year of relevant work experience in the areas of data analytics, data collection, and developing/presenting reports

Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Additional hours as required.
