University of Pittsburgh is Hiring a Psych Mental Health Nursing Faculty - Full-Time Non-Tenure Stream Near Pittsburgh, PA


The University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing is looking for qualified applicants for a full-time non-tenure stream faculty in psychiatric mental health nursing in the department of Health and Community Systems.

Faculty members are employees of the University and receive dedicated time and resources to perform scholarly work, travel to present their work at professional conferences, and opportunities to pursue specialty certification and faculty practice. Faculty promotion opportunities are available for all ranks. Qualifications for these non-tenure stream faculty positions include an earned doctorate (DNP or PhD) and ability to obtain RN licensure in Pennsylvania. Salary and academic rank are commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

Assistant Professor - A) An earned doctorate (DNP or Ph.D.) in nursing or a related field (with a graduate degree in nursing) is required. B) Evidence of excellence in clinical practice and potential for excellence in classroom teaching. D) Demonstrated expertise in the area of nursing or expertise in a related substantive area. E) Evidence of potential to produce scholarly work.
Associate Professor - A) An earned doctorate (DNP or Ph.D.) in nursing or a related field (with a graduate degree in nursing) is required. B) Evidence of excellence in clinical and classroom teaching. D) Evidence of sustained scholarly productivity in a substantive area as indicated by publications, grants, or any other validating material. E) Expertise recognized at the national/international level.
Professor - A) An earned doctorate (DNP or Ph.D.) in nursing or a related field (with a graduate degree in nursing) is required. B) Evidence of sustained excellence as a teacher (clinical and classroom). D) Evidence of sustained scholarly productivity in a substantive area as indicated by publications, external grants, or any other validating material. E) Expertise recognized at the national/international level with sustained knowledge and leadership in an area of specialty. F) Demonstrates sustained commitment to community services related to areas of professional expertise.

Desired Qualifications: Clinical experience and research interest in psychiatric mental health nursing. We are particularly interested in individuals who can demonstrate the potential for scholarship, teaching, mentoring, and engaging diverse students.
