Position Summary
This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location, consistent with System Office policy. UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station.
The Associate Director for Undergraduate Business Employer Relations (the AD), in collaboration with the Director of Undergraduate Business Career Development & Employer Relations, is primarily responsible for the administration of the employer relations function within the Undergraduate Business Program (UBP). This function includes collaborating with employers to identify their talent acquisition needs, develop student engagement strategies and facilitate recruiting activities that could lead to internship and full-time career opportunities for UBP students. In addition to managing a portfolio of employer relationships themselves, the AD is responsible for strategic planning to maintain and enhance existing employer relationships, identifying prospective employers and building new relationships, and training and supporting other team members as they manage assigned employer portfolios. The AD will lead the annual assessment of employer engagement metrics and make strategic recommendations for the department. To a lesser extent, the AD will also provide career coaching and related programming for business students with responsibilities for UBP specific programs (e.g. case competitions, industry bootcamps, career treks, etc.) and may serve as an advisor to student organizations that plan career-related programming. With respect to employer relations, the AD will collaborate with University Career Services (UCS), other campus career offices, and other units within the business school to find and develop synergies in corporate engagement. The AD supervises the Recruitment Services Coordinator (one FTE) and reports to the Director of Undergraduate Business Career Development & Employer Relations.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Relevant post-Baccalaureate degree required (or foreign degree equivalent); for candidates demonstrating comparable independent educational or instructional activities associated with the delivery and/or management of student support functions, will accept a relevant Bachelor’s degree (or foreign degree equivalent) and at least 1 year of relevant experience in substitution.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Experience in business development, recruiting, human resources, higher education career advising; or a related business relevant field with experience in a client-facing role. Strong leadership skills and management experience. Sales skills and the ability to effectively and enthusiastically represent UNC Kenan-Flagler undergraduate business students and the UBP to targeted organizations. Strong interpersonal, customer-service, and communication skills (written & verbal presentation) with an ability to communicate with a variety of stakeholders at all levels including executives, students, faculty, staff, alumni, parents and recruiting professionals. Critical requirements include: professional demeanor, strong organizational and project management skills, attention-to-detail, flexibility, sound judgement, the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, metrics orientation and the ability to analyze and interpret large data sets in Excel. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to work independently and in a team environment, as well as creative thinking and an innovative approach to contemporary career management, which includes understanding the connection between technology, student behavior, and employer relations. The individual must be willing and able to attend and or manage events in the evening hours and some weekends. Willingness to travel 10-20% as some travel is required to visit key employers, accompany students on recruiting trips, and represent UNC Kenan-Flagler at national and international conferences and / or competitions.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Strong proficiency in technology (office productivity and information management software): Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc. Experience with recruiting and CRM software such as Handshake, 12Twenty, Slate and Salesforce is a plus.

Campus Security Authority Responsibilities
This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority in accordance with the Clery Act. This position will be required to report Clery crimes to the Clery Compliance Manager and complete annual training about reporting responsibilities.
