Position Summary | UNM Taos anticipates hiring adjunct faculty to teach in Fall 2024 Semesters in the Holistic Health and Healing (HHHA) Arts Program of Integrative Health and Medical Massage. Hires must be local to New Mexico and be available to teach face-to-face in a classroom situation. Faculty will teach and/or develop Lower Division Courses (100-200 Level). Anticipated openings for Fall 2024 potentially include the following subjects but may be expanded depending on the instructor’s skill-set and the needs of our 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training Program: HHHA 110 Yoga for Wellness(1-3 credits) The ideal candidate will have 500 hours of yoga education, experience teaching in a college environment, experience teaching remotely and face-to-face, and/or the knowledge to teach multiple classes in the field, including chanting/mantra, yoga philosophy, history, and sacred texts. Classes could be in-person or online depending on academic needs. Positions are contingent upon need each semester as determined by student enrollment levels, the current course offering matrix, and demand, which is driven by graduation requirements.Positions may be filled or eliminated each semester up to the deadline for students to drop or add courses.Candidates who are selected for these positions will report to Amber Burke, Holistic Health and Healing Arts Coordinator, who can be reached at amberburke@unm.edu. Qualifications | Minimum Qualifications to teach or develop courses in the field or subfield for which you are applying are determined by Higher Learning Commission’s accreditation requirements for faculty, and must be met by one of these ways: 1. A Bachelor’s Degree and professional experience in the area which they are applying to teach. 2. Applicant must have completed a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in the discipline or subfield in which they teach or tested experience that is determined to be equivalent to the degree and/or have completed 500 hours of yoga teacher training(s). 3.
