Position Summary

The HSC Center for Native American Health is seeking ateam-oriented, highly motivated, and exceptionally knowledgeable person who hasexperience in Native American education to oversee its Student Development core.

The Education & Outreach Manager will be anadministrative partner to the CNAH director. They will have working knowledgeof Indian education theories and academic success strategies for NativeAmerican students and effectively engage tribal leaders, Native students, UNMleaders, and academic institutions such as tribal colleges and universities,and the public, tribally operated, and Bureau of Indian Education schoolsystems. They will also have experience and skills in pipeline program and grantdevelopment that is needed to grow the Student Development and Tribal HealthWorkforce core.

Conditions of Employment
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Native American education
  • Experience working with Native American students, preferablyat the undergraduate and graduate levels
  • Academic success strategic planning skills and experience
  • Effective collaboration and communications with Tribalcommunities, colleges and universities
  • Grant development track record Demonstrated strong writingand oral communication skills
