Position Summary | The University of New Mexico (UNM),College of Nursing (CON) is seeking a dynamic leader to serve as the AssociateDean of Academic Affairs. The Associate Dean for Academic Affairs in the CON isa leader and champion in the areas of assessment, accreditation, mentorship,and curricular innovation. The Associate Dean for Academic Affairs providescollege-level leadership, management, and oversight of all academic affairs ofthe CON. In this context academic affairs refers to: all activities involvingthe creation, maintenance, revision, or deletion of curriculum, courses,sequences of courses and programs of study offered by or within the College;all managerial activities related to that curriculum (including periodic assessments,required reporting, and accreditation/licensure requirements); the support offaculty and students in the delivery of that curriculum. This willinclude student performance reviews and discipline, grade appeals, and otherresolutions. The Associate Dean for Academic Affairs serves as a key member ofCON Leadership team. This includes providing strategic leadership todevelop a future vision of the CON to enhance current and emerging programs andthe stewardship of resources, personnel, and collaboration within the CON, UNM,and across the state. This position reports to the Dean.
The University of New Mexico Collegeof Nursing located in Albuquerque, NM, ranks in the top 15% of nursingprograms in the country. With over 1,000 enrolled students, the collegeoffers pre- and post-licensure baccalaureate, master’s, post-master’s, anddoctoral programs. Program offerings include the state’s premiere Doctorof Philosophy (PhD) and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) programs; master’s andpost-master’s programs across seven concentrations for APRNs, nurse educators,and nurse administrators; and the New Mexico Nurse Education Consortiumbaccalaureate curriculum.
