Position Summary | The University of New Mexico, Office of the University Controller, also known as Financial Services, located on Main Campus is responsible for all central accounting functions for the University. It is the responsibility of the Controller's Office aka Financial Services to ensure compliance with all financial policies, rules, and regulations adopted by the University or imposed by external agencies, including state and federal audit requirements, following generally accepted accounting practices. Additionally, the Controller's Office oversees the maintenance of the official financial records of the University. Within Financial Services is Risk Management which supports the mission of the University of New Mexico by evaluating risk exposures and develop effective loss prevention measures. We handle the placement and renewal of the university's insurance policies, process claims made against those policies and the university, and seek to minimize exposure to liability through risk transfer, loss prevention, and business continuity planning. Risk Services is looking for a Professional Consultant which will serve as a casualty claims investigator for UNM & UNMH. The position will gather facts of loss for submission to RMD. Additionally, the position will assist with property and workers compensation claims handling from mid-June to mid-September of this year during the absence of another employee. This position is on site and in person. Currently there is no remote work option. Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications. Minimum Qualifications | Bachelor's degree; at least 7 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. |
