You will join the foundation at an exciting time, with the opportunity to make a transformational impact. The foundation is in the public phase of a historic campaign to raise $3 billion to build a better future for Nebraska. The campaign is being led by many enthusiastic volunteers representing all areas of the University of Nebraska System. This paid position offers a flexible schedule of 10-15 hours per week, professional experience, learning opportunities, and a convenient work location in the Aksarben area; occasional evening and weekend hours will be required to assist with event support.

Ways you’ll make an impact:

  • Assist in organizing and providing logistical support for alumni events including reserving facilities, updating, and compiling materials, check in, set up, tear down, etc.
  • Process all event-related mailing requests and ensure timely distribution of materials.
  • Manage swag send-outs for the Baby O program, including packaging and shipping.
  • Research students and young alumni via LinkedIn for potential engagement opportunities.
  • Maintain and update alumni contact information in our CRM system.
  • Perform general administrative tasks to support the smooth operation of the alumni association such as providing front desk coverage, welcoming donors, and alumni, etc.
  • Occasionally support communications colleagues on various projects as time allows.

What you need:

  • Education: Current student status at the University of Nebraska – Omaha.
  • Preferred Experience: Experience planning or supporting events and programs—translatable experience and skills in other areas will be considered.
  • Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office with a technical aptitude to learn new technologies.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
