Seeking Student Bus Operators

UDASH bus operators are the most highly paid student employees at the University of Montana, starting at $17.00/hr. Leadership opportunities are available with additional compensation. Drivers learn how to safely and efficiently operate a bus and are responsible for delivering thousands of passengers safely each day. No CDL is required to apply. Paid CDL training begins May 13th OR July 22nd, as we are offering two training sessions in preparation for the fall semester.

• Most commonly work M-F shifts, with some training/special shuttles on weekends

Qualifications:

• Must be graduating May 2025 or later to be eligible for hire
• Must be enrolled in at least 6 credits at the University of Montana Fall 2024
• Must be willing to take a paid CDL training course and obtain a Class B CDL with passenger and airbrake endorsements
• Must submit to pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screening in compliance with the Federal Transit Administration
• Must be at least 18 with a valid driver's license
• Must agree work a minimum of 6 hours a week and 9 total hours of special event shuttles driven throughout the academic year

The ASUM Office of Transportation is a full-service, student-run transportation provider and operates the UDASH bus system. As one of only a handful of student-owned and operated transit systems in the country, student employees at ASUM Transportation gain a unique variety of experiences.

ASUM Transportation's mission is to promote and provide safe, sustainable, and equitable transportation options for the campus community.

ASUM Transportation sets up students for success by helping them get to campus each day. We provide bus services, bike rentals, route planning, safety tips, and other resources to reduce the stress around transportation and commuting to school. Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
