The Radiation Therapist is responsible for delivering precise and efficient ionizing radiation therapy treatments as determined by the Radiation Oncologist. This position administers prescribed doses of radiation to specific body parts, using radiation therapy equipment according to establish practices and standards. Radiation is an essential part of treatment for some people with cancer and other disorders. M Health Fairview Cancer Care offers leading-edge radiation oncology treatments and technology for patients with cancer and other conditions. With the latest equipment and technology, our expert team of radiation specialists provide innovative and compassionate care for patients across the Twin Cities metro area. Radiation Therapist Overview Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: Prepares and constructs equipment such as immobilization devices as needed or prescribed by the physician Prepares and educates patients and families for simulation and treatment Observes and reassures patients during treatment and report unusual reactions to physician or turn equipment off if unexpected adverse reactions occur Operates specified equipment within the radiation therapy department. Records and verifies computer system, and IGRT and Portal vision system Positions patients for treatment with accuracy according to prescription. Reviews prescription, diagnosis, patient chart, and identification of patient Minimum Qualifications: ARRT registration in radiation therapy or be board eligible by completing the appropriate school of radiation therapy and completing registration within three months of hire BLS certification Excellent patient relations skills Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously Location: M Health Fairview Maple Grove Radiation Oncology Clinic - 14500 99th Ave N, Maple Grove MN Hours: 0.4 FTE - 16 hours/week, this is a part time position.* M Physicians offers competitive salary and excellent benefits and provides you with the opportunity to enhance your career in the exciting field of health care through rewarding and challenging assignments and the opportunities for advancement.
