The University of Southern Maine’s Muskie School of Public Service invites applications for a Research Assistant II working with our Maine Rural Health Research Center.
The Muskie School of Public Service is Maine’s distinguished public policy school, combining an extensive applied research and technical assistance portfolio with rigorous undergraduate and graduate degree and certificate programs in public health; geography-anthropology; tourism and hospitality; policy, planning, and management (MPPM); and fields of sustainable development and health and human service policy and management.
The Maine Rural Health Research Center focuses on barriers to health care access for rural residents and related topics, including insurance coverage, Medicaid, behavioral health, long term services & supports, and challenges faced by rural providers (rural health clinics, critical access hospitals, and EMS) in delivering and sustaining services.
The Research Assistant II will work with faculty and research staff to collect and analyze qualitative and quantitative data related to rural health. With guidance, the Research Assistant will assist in research, data analysis, policy analysis, and the preparation of research products (presentations, policy briefs, chartbooks and published peer-reviewed articles). This position conducts data analyses with support, produces figures and tables from analytic output, conducts literature reviews and manages citations in EndNote, and writes draft sections of research findings.
This is a full-time in person position with an annual salary up to $39,500 and is located on our Portland Campus.
