The University of Southern Maine invites applicants for a Project Specialist position that will provide direct project coordination and support for a variety of initiatives in the Office of the Provost and the Academic Affairs Division.
The Office of the Provost is responsible for administering the University’s academic program, including both instruction and research, and for the strategic planning and budgeting, coordination, monitoring, and development of all academic activities at the University.
As the Project Specialist, this position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Provost office while overseeing Academic Affairs or University projects as assigned by the Provost. The Project Specialist serves as the Human Resources Liaison to the Academic Affairs departments that report directly to the Provost, assisting in completing the operational items related to employment actions for employees in this division.
Serving as the central point of contact for communication with key internal and external stakeholders, the Project Specialist coordinates team meetings, special projects, and initiatives, assists in executive level presentations. In addition, the Project Specialist provides back up and oversight to the Executive Assistant and Scheduler for management of the Provost’s calendar. This involves prioritizing access to the Provost ensuring that appropriate time is allocated for rcurring meetings, key priorities, strategies, and maximum productivity, and manages internal and external requests to the Provost and uses discretion to determine nature of meeting requests which need the provost’s direct attention or transfer to others as appropriate.
This is a full-time position with an annual salary up to $55,000 commensurate with experience.
