Statement of Job:

The University of Southern Maine’s College of Management and Human Service (CMHS) has an opening for a full-time Human Resources Liaison. As the Human Resources Liaison, you will play a crucial role in providing personnel related support to faculty, staff, and administrators within CMHS. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success and well-being of our vibrant academic community.

The Human Resources Liaison facilitates a close working relationship between the Human Resource Office at USM and the College of Management and Human Service to coordinate personnel related actions on all college (CMHS) employees, acts as the liaison on Human Resources matters between the College and all other University and System offices on and off campus. This position creates and manages compensation contracts for all College employees and facilitates the hiring, training, and performance reviews of each staff and faculty member; interprets policies, and analyzes and collaborates in the development of College, University and System policies and procedures; assists the Financial Manager with employee salary matters; and supports the Dean, in coordination with HR on all personnel and administrative matters.

The College of Management and Human Service has programs spread across the Portland and Gorham campuses. These programs include the School of Education, The Muskie School of Public Service, The School of Social Work and The School of Business. Academic departments include: Public Health, Public Policy, & Planning, Business, Accounting & Finance, Social Work, Education Leadership, Teacher Education, Special Education, Counselor Education, Adult and Higher Education, Education Phycology and Exceptionality, Literacy, Language & Culture, Tourism and Hospitality and Geography, Anthropology. Together, these programs provide a variety of graduate and undergraduate degrees, minors, and certificates.

This is a full-time in person position with an annual salary up to $51,000 and is located on our Portland Campus.
