University of Louisiana Lafayette is Hiring an Assistant Football Coach Near Lafayette, LA

Position Title: Assistant Football Coach

Department: 8922|Football

Responsibilities:

The University of Louisiana at LafayetteAthletics Department is seeking a qualified Assistant Football Coach. Thisposition will report directly to the Head Football Coach. This position assiststhe Head Football Coach in directing all activities of the Football Programwithin NCAA, Sun Belt Conference, and UL Lafayette Policies, guidelines, andprocedures. The Assistant Football Coach is responsible for maintaining highacademic standards to support the academic development and graduation ofstudent-athletes while focusing on student-athlete welfare; assisting insuccessfully directing the Football program to compete for NCAA Championships;assisting in the recruitment of student-athletes and maintaining a culture ofpersonal accountability in student-athlete performance and conduct, assistingin the planning and direction of all practices, travel, and game activities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITITES
-Successfully recruit, retain, develop, and graduate high performing Football Student-Athletes.
-Assist with preparation, organization, design, and implementation of effective practice schedules, off-season programs, and game coaching.
-Effective Community engagement, donor, and public relations.
-Consistent compliance with NCAA and Sun Belt Conference rules, and regulations.
-Monitor student-athlete's academic progress.

In addition to the standard responsibilities of an Assistant Coach, the Defensive Coordinator:
-Coordinates and oversees the overall preparation, strategy, implementation, and performance of the team's defense.
-Represents the second level of a team's command structure on the defensive side of the football, with the head coach being the first level.
-Manages the roster of defensive players, overseeing the assistant coaches, developing the defensive game plan, and calling plays for the defense during the game.
-Manages multiple assistant coaches, each of whom are responsible for various defensive positions on the team (such as the defensive line, linebackers, or defensive backs).
-Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

-Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution.
-Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience coaching/competing at a college level or comparable experience preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

-Master's Degree from a regionally accredited institution.

-Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication, organizational, public relations, interpersonal, customer service, and supervisory skills when working with student-athletes, faculty, staff, coaches, and administration.
-Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others; commitment to working with multi-cultural populations.
-Have strong work ethic and be a person of high integrity and character who shares a commitment for knowing and complying with NCAA, Conference, and Institutional rules as they apply to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette Athletics program.
-Ability to work extended daily hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
