Description:
The Tai lab in the Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology at the University of Illinois at Chicago is seeking highly energetic and organized applicants for a full-time Visiting Research Scientist position. This role will involve managing a large transgenic mouse colony and conducting behavioral analysis. Our research focus is understanding how blood-brain barrier dysfunction contributes to Alzheimer’s disease as a therapeutic target, and experimental procedures include behavioral tests, histology, microscopy, biochemical assays, and cell culture models.

Qualifications:
Qualifications: Experience in colony maintenance, genotyping and mouse treatment is essential. Experience in mouse behavior and tissue collection (perfusions, brain dissection) is preferred.
Enthusiasm for learning and gaining research and lab management experience, and the ability to coordinate and supervise others effectively are the most critical requirements of the position. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and organized, and strong communication skills are a must. This position requires three years of previous research experience, a Ph.D degree in biological sciences, neurosciences or other related fields
