Minimum Starting Salary: $22.00 per hour / 7.5 hour work day

Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Development, the Development Program Assistant will be a vital contributor, providing administrative support, managing clerical tasks, overseeing data entry, and actively engaging with donors. This role is instrumental in representing the organization at events and fostering relationships to contribute to the growth of our FRIENDS of UIS Performing Arts Center program.
Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the Director of Development serving as a staff advisor to event attendants and volunteers, coordinating details of mass communication efforts and performing professional support tasks in daily operations
  • Assists director, based on judgment and expert knowledge of the FRIENDS program operations, in executing events and special opportunities for donors
  • Coordinates the logistics and activities for the FREINDS membership program, actively engaging with donors, fostering relationships and contributing to the growth of our annual giving program
  • Works directly with performing arts services staff to provide program knowledge and expertise of procedures and developments related to the field of managing a performing arts center annual fund; pursues professional development activities to expand knowledge and maintain currency
  • Learns about and assesses the needs of members who are enrolled in the FRIENDS of UIS Performing Arts Center program
  • Develops materials and techniques for educating patrons and FRIENDS members in such areas as the relationship of the FRIENDS program to the UIS Performing Arts Center’s overall operational goals
  • Compiles and analyzes data and information, evaluates, and summarizes findings
  • Represents and coordinates working relationships of the unit on various committees, teams or peers related to the FRIENDS or other development program; acts as a liaison to campus, agency and community groups
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Strong proficiency in data entry and record-keeping
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and data management software
Ability to represent the organization professionally at events
Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Travel Requirements:
5% Occasional local visits with prospects and donors
