University of Illinois at Chicago is Hiring a Dentist Near Rockford, IL

Position Summary
This position will perform dental-related services in a corrections environment at the Winnebago County Justice Center. The College of Medicine provides a full spectrum of health care services in this facility, including dental services. Correctional dentistry is a unique, challenging, and exciting opportunity for dentists because it allows you to provide patient care without the interference and barriers associated with a private practice.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Examine patients to determine nature of condition, utilizing x-rays, dental instruments, and other diagnostic tools/procedures.
  • Fill cavities and fix or remove damaged teeth, using rotary, hand instruments, dental appliances, medications, and surgical implements.
  • Administer or prescribe medications to decrease pain and improve patient health.
  • Interact with patients and instruct them on proper oral care.
  • Measure and fit patients for dental appliances.
  • Refer patients to specialist as needed
  • Perform other related duties and/or projects as assigned.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited school of Dentistry Medicine (DDS/DMD)
  • Active and unrestricted Illinois dental license

Wage: $115 per hour and negotiable
