Position Summary:
General Technicians perform minor maintenance tasks in the residence halls and apartments. They help maintain facilities for students and guests. Assistants staffed in this position will receive the training necessary to perform all routine maintenance responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Working in a team to accomplish goals
• Be at least 18 years of age
• Must be a University of Idaho Student

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience:
  • Working in construction or building maintenance
  • Using power tools and equipment

• Expressed interest in learning and acquiring skills related to building maintenance

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
Must be able to:

• Bend, stoop and work in awkward positions for several hours at a time
• Climb and work from ladders, scaffolding and scissor lifts
• Carry, lift or otherwise move items weighing up to 50 pounds
• Moving about continuously throughout the workday
• Work in inclement weather conditions
