University of Idaho Farm Assistant
Location: Off Campus Location - Tetonia Division/College: College of Agricultural & Life Sciences Employee Category: Classified Pay Range: $17.00 per hour FTE: 1 Full/Part Time: Full Time Position Summary: This position will operate various types of farm equipment through out the year. They will operate greenhouse operations through out the year, prepare seed for sale and shipping and assist with research of cereal grains and potatoes. They will be responsible for performing minor repairs for all equipment on station, solving problems as they arise and maintaining station cleanliness. Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience with agricultural crop production
Experience in operation and maintenance of farm equipment
Experience using electrical and hand operated shop tools
Experience with safety practices
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate degree in agricultural related field
Knowledge of irrigation of various agricultural crops
Knowledge of farm chemicals and their use
Farm experience
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
Must be able to lift, carry, or otherwise move up to 50 pounds
Work in a dusty environment, in extreme temperatures (outdoor conditions) and different building temperatures
