Other Conditions:For placement into the lecturer pool beginning Spring 2024. Subject to availability of funds and actual staffing requirements. 

Duties and Responsibilities:
In accordance with accreditation standards of the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT), the faculty is responsible for the following:
  • Work under the general supervision of the discipline coordinator/division chairperson in integrating teaching efforts with other instructors in the discipline area
  • Prepares and maintains course outlines and objectives, instructs and evaluates students, and reports progress
  • Participates in the assessment process, when appropriate
  • Cooperates with the program director in periodic review and revision of course materials, and maintains appropriate expertise and competence through continuing professional development.
  • Teach courses in the assigned subject area
  • Prepare course syllabus and reports related to teaching and student progress;
  • Assess student learning in terms of course competencies and program learning outcomes
  • Submit self-assessment reports based on student and peer evaluations;
  • Maintain one office hour per week for each class taught (20 minutes per credit per week).
  • Classes may be offered online, evenings and/or weekends.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Baccalaureate Degree in Radiologic Technology; and
  2. Documents eight hours per week of clinical experience in Radiologic Technology for two years; and is qualified to teach Radiologic Technology; and is knowledgeable of course development, instruction, evaluation, and academic advising; and
  3. American Registry of Radiologic Technologists current registration in radiography or equivalent plus current Hawai‘i State licensure 
Desirable Qualifications:
  1. Work experience related to courses to be taught.
  2. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively.
  3. Familiarity with competency- and outcomes-based instruction.
  4. Knowledgeable of course development, instruction, evaluation, and academic advising
