Job Description
Serves as a member of the Office of Residential Life (ORL) leadership team providing vision, goals, and program implementation for professional and graduate staff members, Resident Advisors, student leaders and residents. Directly supervises professional and graduate staff. Responsible for the community development, student engagement and learning, and management of a residential community housing first-year or returning and graduate students. In all actions, maintains privacy and confidentiality of records in accordance with established University policy as well as applicable federal regulations appropriate to higher education. Performs all duties in full support of the University's mission, understanding the positive and effective execution of these duties are instrumental to the education of the University's students.
This is a 12-month, live-on staff position with on-call responsibilities. At times this includes
unpredictable evening and weekend work hours; some weeks require more than 40 hours.

Description of Key Responsibility: Hires, supervises, and evaluates multiple Resident Directors (RDs) and multiple Graduate Assistants (GAs). Provides leadership, direction, and support to RDs and GAs in the areas of community development, residential education, conflict mediation, crisis intervention, policy enforcement, administrative processes, and student support. Facilitates regular team and individual meetings, as well as develop and provide on-going training and development opportunities.
Description of Key Responsibility: Oversees the operation and management of a residential community comprised of traditional-style residence halls, suites, and/or apartments. Collaborates with Assistant Director of Housing Operations to develop and execute administrative processes, including but not limited to room condition reports, health and safety inspections, room verifications, and damage billing. Provides fiscal oversight for community, Hall Council, and training budgets. Partners with Aramark Facilities to resolve facilities-related issues and identify building needs.
Description of Key Responsibility: Utilizes the Residential Learning Model ( RLM ) to provide a residential experience that promotes community development and residential engagement and learning. Works with Living and Learning Community ( LLC ) faculty, staff, and RAs to provide residents with a seamless in- and out-of-classroom experience. Assesses student needs and participates in the development of programs and initiatives to increase student retention, persistence, and support.
Description of Key Responsibility: Displays an active commitment to creating a diverse, equitable, and inclusive residential community. Develops and implements innovative policies and practices that foster and advance equity and inclusion. Regularly evaluates and improves operational and systemic processes to ensure equitable residential opportunities for students. Actively supports and adapts to new ideas, approaches, and change.
Description of Key Responsibility: Collaborates with Division of Student Success ( DSS ) and academic partners as a member of the Universitys Care Team; monitors and develops strategies to support students social, personal, and academic success.
Description of Key Responsibility: Maintains a student-centered approach by providing a quality customer service experience to current and perspective students, families, faculty, and staff; clarify policy, address residential life concerns and respond to inquiries. Develops relationships with students, families, and other community members.
Description of Key Responsibility: Serves as a conduct hearing and appeals officer. Works closely with the Office of Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution to oversee RD and GA student conduct caseloads. Responsible for following federal and state regulations as they relate to Residential Life and DSS functions, as well as University policies and procedures. Serves as a Campus Security Authority (Clery Act).
Description of Key Responsibility: Serves as a member of a director-level on-call team to provide support and direction to RDs and GAs managing campus emergency and crisis situations.
Description of Key Responsibility: Builds collaborative relationships with campus partners to execute campus-wide processes and events including First-Year Orientation, Move-In, Move-Out, Family Weekend, Admissions events, Commencement, and other campus-wide events. Partners with Public Safety to support a community policing model. Chairs and serves as a member of department, Division of Student Success, and University committees.
