Job Summary:
The University of Colorado, Anschutz Medical Campus, School of Dental Medicine welcomes applications from exceptional candidates for a part-time, clinical track faculty in the Division of Endodontics in the Department of Diagnostic Sciences and Surgical Dentistry. The Department of Diagnostic Sciences and Surgical Dentistry is home to five divisions - the Divisions of Periodontics, Endodontics, Diagnostic Sciences, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and General Practice Residency Program. The successful candidate will be an outstanding clinician and/or educator with interest in, and commitment to clinical care, teaching, and scholarship.
Examples of Work Performed
Teaching
Primary teaching responsibilities of this position center on clinical and didactic teaching in the pre-doctoral and post-doctoral curricula with a focus on collaboratively building and/or maintaining programs within the SDM that meet service needs at the local, state, national, and international levels, in alignment with the mission and strategic plan of the SDM.
Core teaching responsibilities include:
* Teaching dental students in endodontic and inter-disciplinary didactic, pre-clinical, and clinical courses, including supervision, guiding-through-demonstration, and the provision of endodontic care in the school's pre-doctoral endodontic clinics
* Teaching residents and post-doctoral students in didactic and clinical courses; including supervision, guiding-through-demonstration, and the provision of endodontic care in the school's graduate clinics
Service
Examples of service responsibilities include service to the assigned program, the school, mentoring students, serving on school and campus committees, and other responsibilities as negotiated, and depending on teaching workload.
Research/Scholarship
Research /scholarship responsibilities offer an opportunity collaborate on or initiate programmatic inquiry and scholarship in alignment with SDM mission and vision.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
This is an open rank position and based on experience and qualifications as indicated below. Initial rank is based upon knowledge, achievement, and experience, and with the opportunity for academic promotion based upon demonstrated, ongoing excellence in education, research, clinical care, and community service. Applicants must have a clinical, scholarly, and/or academic record consistent with each SDM Faculty appointment level in the School of Dental Medicine.
? Assistant Professor:
o A DDS/DMD degree from a CODA accredited U.S. dental school or foreign equivalent
o Completion of advanced dental residency program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation
o Eligibility for a Colorado dental license
o At this rank, applicants will usually have some successful teaching experience and will be expected to teach and/or provide clinical care.
? Associate Professor:
o A DDS/DMD degree from a CODA accredited U.S. dental school or foreign equivalent
o Completion in advanced dental residency program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation
o Eligibility for a Colorado dental license
o At this rank, applicants will be well qualified to teach and/or provide clinical care with considerable demonstrated evidence of successful teaching and demonstrated leadership and service.
? Professor:
o A DDS/DMD degree from a CODA accredited U.S. dental school or foreign equivalent
o Completion in advanced dental residency program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation
o Eligibility for a Colorado dental license
o At this rank, applicants will demonstrate outstanding accomplishments in teaching, and/or providing clinical care, a record of leadership, and a meritorious leadership and service record.
Preferred Qualifications:
The below are preferred qualifications but they are not required. We welcome application submissions from candidates who have demonstrated and potential in the following:
* Board certification or eligibility for Board Certification by the American Board of Endodontics is desirable
* The preferred candidate will have academic healthcare experience and a demonstrated commitment to working in a collaborative and multi-cultural environment; and must be committed to the highest standards of inclusive, ethical, and professional conduct.
* Demonstrated previous academic experience mentoring/precepting students
* Commitment to working with vulnerable and underserved populations.
* Demonstrated leadership, organizational and communication skills
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
* Ability to analyze, interpret, and evaluate a broad range of rules, and regulations in order to exercise good judgment in applying them to dental medicine.
* Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally, including public speaking.

* Thorough knowledge of current management and leadership methods and best practices.
* Knowledge of professional standards, concepts and practices related to supervision.

Anticipated Pay Range:
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:
* Assistant Professor: $120,000 - $145,000
* Associate Professor: $145,000 - $175,000
* Professor: $175,000 - $225,000
* The above ranges are based on a 1.0 FTE and will be adjusted based on final FTE.
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
