Job Summary:

The Women's Behavioral Health and Wellness (WBHW) Service Line in the Department of Psychiatry (DOP) has an opening for a part-time reproductive psychiatrist at the Clinical Instructor to Associate Clinical Professor rank. This faculty member will provide direct patient services within a diverse set of WBHW clinical settings, which may include reproductive mental health specialty outpatient care and/or integrated services within Ob/Gyn or other women's health specialty settings. The ideal candidate will be a skilled clinician with subspecialty training in reproductive psychiatry across the lifespan, an enthusiastic educator, and have a strong interest in service innovation, scholarship, and quality improvement.

The WBHW clinical team provides patient-centered and evidence-based care aimed to promote wellness in women across the lifespan. Our dynamic interdisciplinary team of psychologists, psychiatrists, and social workers work collaboratively with primary care providers and specialists to offer consultative services and problem-focused care for women with behavioral health concerns related to periods of reproductive transition or medical conditions or treatment impacting reproductive hormones and well-being. We aim to maintain and expand access to services by implementing innovative models of clinical care, providing interdisciplinary clinical training, and deepening collaborative community and public partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides direct patient care within WBHW clinical settings.
  • Supervision of medical trainees within reproductive psychiatry settings.
  • Timely documentation of clinical interactions and adherence to clinic operations procedures
  • Collaboration with WBHW faculty and staff, in addition to colleagues across the health system, to build professional relationships and provide patient-centered care.

Work Location:

Hybrid - this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of # 2-3 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Minimum Qualifications:

This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Clinical Instructor, Senior Clinical Instructor, Assistant Clinical Professor, or Associate Clinical Professor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below:

There are several factors that will impact the rank including previous or current rank, years of experience, and years licensed. Determination of rank is done based on the interview of the individual candidate and if they want to pursue the promotion track.

Clinical Instructor:

  • 1-4 years of related clinical experience at rank or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum degree qualifications: MD/DO
  • Must obtain and maintain a medical license in Colorado and be Board Certified/Board Eligible in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN)

Senior Clinical Instructor:

  • 1-4 years of related clinical experience at rank or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum degree qualifications: MD/DO
  • Must obtain and maintain a medical license in Colorado and be Board Certified/Board Eligible in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN)

Assistant Clinical Professor:

  • 1-4 years of related clinical experience at rank or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum degree qualifications: MD/DO
  • Must obtain and maintain a medical license in Colorado and be Board Certified/Board Eligible in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN)

Associate Clinical Professor:

  • 4-7 years of related clinical experience at rank or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum degree qualifications: MD/DO
  • Must obtain and maintain a medical license in Colorado and be Board Certified/Board Eligible in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with mental health integration into primary care or OB/GYN settings.
  • Expertise in the psychiatric care of perinatal persons as well as individuals who are receiving care for breast cancer, pelvic pain, menses-related mood disorders, infertility and/or symptoms of perimenopause.
  • Interest in and experience with teaching medical trainees.
  • Interest and experience in supporting the health and wellbeing of healthcare providers.
  • Experience with EPIC.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with faculty, staff, students, alumni, industry and the public.

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:

Clinical Instructor:

$220,000 to $260,000

Senior Clinical Instructor:

$220,000 to $260,000

Assistant Clinical Professor:

$220,000 to $260,000

Associate Clinical Professor:

$240,000 to $275,000
