Job Title: Entry Business Services Professional

Position: #00822071 – Requisition: #33511

Job Summary:

The Division of Hospital Medicine (DHM) is seeking an entry-level Business Services Professional to assist with administrative and regulatory duties related to quality improvement, program evaluation, and research projects conducted within the inpatient setting. The DHM strives to provide exceptional quality patient care in a caring, cost appropriate manner while advancing the science of hospital medicine through a commitment to education and research.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compiles, submits, and maintains regulatory documentation including letters of support, quality improvement/program evaluation attestations, IRB materials, and incentive programs for multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Schedules project meetings between the Data and Analytics Team and investigators/project leads and documenting associated action items.
  • Tracks completion of project milestones by the Data and Analytics Team to ensure deadlines and deliverables are met.
  • Coordinates administrative tasks for the DHM Small Grants program.
  • Assists with both quantitative and qualitative data collection (observational data, survey administration, and interviews/focus groups) and enters data into data systems, including Qualtrics and REDCap.
  • Tracks scholarly products or the Division of Hospital Medicine and the data and analytics team including publications and abstracts.

Work Location:

Hybrid – this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of less than or equal to 2 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, biological science, social sciences, healthcare administration, information systems, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
    • A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One (1) year of professional level experience in quality improvement, research, or related experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Previous experience with regulatory requirements such as human subjects training and institutional review boards.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion.
  • Strong knowledge of spreadsheet and database programs.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and learn protocol adherence, general research practices, rules of patient confidentiality and study protocols.
  • This position requires interacting with healthcare staff and candidates must be comfortable working in a clinical environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook).

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $48,494 - $56,739.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
