The CMCT program was created in 2022 to respond to emergent mental health situations on our campus and to support student voices asking for innovative, culturally sensitive, and tiered responses to campus mental health crises and the national trend towards non-police options. DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW UC Santa Cruz (UCSC) Student Health Services (SHS) is a full-service health facility offering clinical, educational, counseling, and psychiatry services to UCSC students. SHS is deeply committed to ensuring affordable, well-integrated, multidisciplinary healthcare that effectively supports the university's diverse campus communities through equitable access and culturally competent, high quality programs and services. The Primary Care Program includes primary care and same-day care, with the support of on-site radiology, a COLA-accredited high-complexity clinical laboratory, and a campus pharmacy. Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) provides a variety of mental health and psychological services to UCSC undergraduate and graduate students, including intake assessment, brief individual and group therapy, crisis intervention, mental health outreach and workshop programming, and consultation services to support student academic success and mental health and well being. Other departments include Student Health Outreach and Promotion (SHOP), home of the Condom Co-op; CARE (Center for Advocacy, Resources, & Empowerment), the advocacy and prevention education office that supports survivors of sexual assault, stalking, and dating/domestic violence; and Student Insurance Programs. Student Health Services employs approximately 150 staff including physicians, psychiatrists, case managers, lab scientists, pharmacists, nurses, radiologists, and many other clinical and administrative staff. JOB SUMMARY The Campus Mobile Crisis Team (CMCT) responds to calls for service involving behavioral health issues on the campus of UC Santa Cruz. The Campus Mobile Crisis Team Intervention Specialist is a field responder tasked with assessing and managing the behavioral health issues of students and others in crisis on campus, works in tandem with another Intervention Specialist, and is supervised by the Campus Mobile Crisis Team Supervisor. The UC Santa Cruz Campus Mobile Crisis Team is part of Student Health Services/Counseling and Psychological Services. This program provides a tiered response to campus mental health crises that includes a non-police option. The CMCT Intervention Specialist provides mobile crisis response services to diverse students and other members of the UCSC community, with an important focus on providing access and crisis response to the BIPOC student population. The CMCT improves the campus infrastructure for supporting students experiencing crises and expanding outcome monitoring and follow-up services for students in crisis. Hours of operation: Monday-Tuesday, 2:00 PM-12 midnight and Wednesday-Sunday, 12 noon-12 midnight. APPOINTMENT INFORMATION Budgeted Salary: $72,000 - $80,000/ annually. Salary commensurate with skills, qualifications and experience.Under California law, the University of California, Santa Cruz is required to post a reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role.
